Bach: Badinerie transcribed for organ
Bach: Badinerie transcribed for organ
Badinerie, the final movement from Orchestral Suite no 2 in B minor, BWV 1067 by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750), transcribed for the pipe organ by James Kennerley. This transcription adds minimally to the printed notes of the strings, adjusting some pitches to fit the hands and adding chords where they would be supplied by the continuo. As such, it may be adapted to a great many possibilities.
One such, which takes full advantage of the orchestral possibilities of the instrument, may be heard here, performed on the Kotzschmar Memorial Organ in Portland, Maine: https://youtu.be/tHKabQoW_O4
