Fauré orch. Kennerley: Cantique de Jean Racine (strings, harp, organ, horn)
Fauré orch. Kennerley: Cantique de Jean Racine (strings, harp, organ, horn)
A fresh orchestration of Gabriel Fauré’s beloved Cantique de Jean Racine for choir, organ, harp, French Horn, and strings.
It was made in 2022 for a recording by the Choir of Saint Paul’s, Harvard Square. You may listen to the final product here. I wanted to create a setting that expanded on existing transcriptions for harp and strings, and particularly one that used the French Horn and organ as part of the ensemble. It may be performed with as few as 6 string players (2 violas (viola 1 may be substituted for violin), 2 violoncellos and 2 double basses.
*An alternative transcription for choir, organ, harp, and violoncello or French Horn solo is available here.
This product is the full score and parts. The choral parts are contained in the full score, but it is advisable that choirs use a freely available vocal score.
