Kennerley: Cantique de Nöel (O Holy Night) (choir-organ)

$3.50

An expansive arrangement of Adolphe Adam's beloved Cantique de Nöel (O Holy Night) by James Kennerley for soloist, choir, organ, and optional French Horn or Trumpet. It is a stunning showcase for soprano or tenor soloists and chorus. The first verse is in French and the subsequent verses in English. It for makes an excellent addition to any holiday concert, and also works very well liturgically.

It is a purposefully flexible arrangement that allows for various configurations. It may be performed with one or two soloists, or no soloists at all. The accompaniment may be organ alone, or organ and French Horn or organ and trumpet. Likewise the first verse may be cut (reducing the length by some 75 seconds) and removing the need for vocal soloists altogether.

It was first performed by Ars Musica Chorale in 2018, and later revised for use at Saint Paul's, Harvard Square 2021.
