Kennerley: Christ, the Fair Glory (SATB & organ)

$3.50

A new, exciting anthem suitable for the Feast of St Michael and All Angels and general use, for mixed choir (with divisi) and organ. Commissioned in 2024 by the Church of the Redeemer, Chestnut Hill, MA in honour of the Rev. Michael B. Dangelo's 10th anniversary as Rector. It is intended to be grand, opulent and thrilling, aided in part by the lively organ part.

The text is taken from the 9th-century Latin hymn, Christe, sanctorum as translated by Percy Dearmer, J. Athelstan Riley, and others. Reference is occasionally made to the hymn tune, Darwall's 148th, commonly sung to the words, " Ye holy angels bright" and a favourite of the parish.

Medium difficulty.
